Description:
Three stunning cosmic objects are featured in this wide-field image including the Lagoon Nebula (M8), the glowing nebulosity next to it (IC 1274), and the Trifid Nebula (M20). Set in the rich star field of the Milky Way in Sagittarius, this trio illuminates a star forming region that is a highlight of the summer sky in North America.
