Description:

Messier 1 or more commonly, the Crab Nebula, is a supernova remnant. You see all different versions of color palettes for this object. I chose to process the natural colors of red, blue, and green that come directly from my camera. Even though it is 11 light years in width and one of brightest supernova remnants in the sky, it cannot be seen with the naked eye. With binoculars or a small telescope, it will appear as a small fuzzy patch. The star associated with this supernova exploded in 1054 and was reported visible in the day sky for 23 days, and at night for almost 2 years. The Crab Nebula is located in Taurus and 6500 light years away.
