Description:

CTB1 in Cassiopeia is an incredibly dim super nova remnant, a real challenge to get a clean image of amongst the huge number of stars in this part of the sky. Its age is about 12,000 years and size around 3ly. There have been many names for this object. Originally, it was called the "Medulla Nebula" for its brain like shape. Other names include the "Garlic Nebula", and "Popped Balloon Nebula". Technical Data: 10" f/3.9 Newtonian astrograph, Atik 16200 CCD, LRGB = 12.8 hours Ha-OIII-RGB total, Payson, Az.
