Description:

The Deer Lick Group of galaxies before and after the appearance of SN2025rbs in NGC 7331. The left image was obtained 2024-08-02 and 2024-08-04, before the supernova appeared and had L:R:G:B exposures = 230:120:120:120 minutes for 11 hours, 30 minutes total exposure. The right image incorporates additional exposures of L:R:G:B = 120:40:40:40 minutes obtained on 2025-08-24, after the supernova appeared for a total exposure of 13 hours, 50 minutes. The Type Ia supernova is visible to the lower right of galaxy's bright nucleus and above the dust lane. The "flea" galaxies visible in the background are NGC 7340 upper left, 7336 upper right, 7337 lower left, and 7335 lower right.
