I captured this photo of a plane transiting the waxing crescent moon at sunset the day before Christmas Eve. The 3rd day waxing crescent moon is also known as Diana's Bow. Diana (Artemis in Greek) is the ancient Roman goddess of the hunt and the moon. Thanks to some good timing, this image embodies that vision of ancient civilizations and demonstrates our intrinsic fascination with the celestial throughout history.
