Description:
NGC 6164, known as the Dragon’s Egg Nebula, is a striking bipolar emission nebula surrounding a rare O-type star in the constellation Norma. Formed about 4,000 years ago, it was created when the massive star expelled gas and dust during violent outbursts. The intense stellar winds shape the surrounding clouds into intricate, glowing lobes of hydrogen and oxygen.
