Description:
We got a glimpse of the very early crescent moon just after sunset on January 14, less than 24 hours after the new moon. That's "earth-shine" illuminating the remaining lunar surface. This image is a stack of 16 short (0.25 sec) color exposures through a 72 mm refractor.
