Description:
Eclipsed Sun making dramatic appearance through clouds over Lake Superior as seen from Whitefish Point, Michigan. This spot had the best sunrise circumstances (91 percent magnitude) for the partial eclipse in the United States. Unfortunately, clouds over Canada obscured the first thirteen minutes of the spectacle. Observers from this site did enjoy a brief unfettered view for a few minutes before the Sun rose back into more clouds.
