Description:
Faint comet 139P/Vaisala-Oterma is in the glow of variable star T Ari which is in the Constellation Aries. The comet is magnitude 19.1 and 230 million miles from Earth in these images. The comet will be at perihelion in December during it's 9.64 year orbit. The comet has a very faint tail below the nucleus. Star T Ari varies in magnitude from about magnitude 8 to 11 and is magnitude 9 in these images.
