Description:
This is the Pelican Nebula (IC 5070), 1800 light-years from Earth, in the very busy (deep-sky-object-wise) Cygnus Constellation. It was imaged from our back yard last night using a SeeStar 50 mm/F5 "smart-scope." The image is a stack of 1206 10-second exposures taken between 10 pm and 3 am. The nebulosity is a mix of Hydrogen and Oxygen gases. A dual narrow band Ha/Oiii filter was used to capture the gaseous detail.
