Description:
IC 5146, better known as the Cocoon Nebula, is a diffuse nebula in Cygnus. It's a combination of reflection, emission and dark nebulosity, and a challenge to process! This image combines RGB data of the full visible spectrum along with narrowband data highlighting those areas containing ionized hydrogen gas.
