Description:

IC 5332, the “ghostly spiral,” lies about 30 million light-years away in Sculptor. I didn’t count them but I’m guessing that there are at least 100 galaxies in this field of view. Though nearly two-thirds the size of the Milky Way, its light is so faintly spread that the galaxy seems almost transparent. In 300 second subs, the arms were barely visible. At mag 10.7 it’s dimmer than any of the Messier galaxies.
