Description:
The Iris Nebula is located in one of my favourite regions of the night sky. Cepheus is filled with dust and colourful stars; a perfect canvass for reflection and dark nebulae. I framed this image to include LDN 1152 which is located in the border region of Draco/Cepheus. The area is filled with night sky gems. In addition to the Iris and Dark Scorpion, there are several other Lyndes Dark nebulae as well as several galaxies revealed in my image. NGC 6951 (also catalogued as NGC 6952) is a lovely barred spiral galaxy located approximately 75 million ly from Earth and barred sprial galaxy NGC 6911 is well over 100 million light years from Earth. The total integration time for my image is 18.5 hours.
