Description:

Here is the "Gecko Nebula" LBN437 in Lacerta. Long exposures for the RGB data reveals a beautiful golden color for the Gecko, surrounded by abundant hydrogen nebulosity. It is quite faint, normally many hours are needed to record it well. Here with the f/2.8 focal ratio provided by the Nexus coma corrector I was able to record it perfectly in only 10 hours. LBN442, the red hydrogen nebulosity is very large, occupying over 10 square degrees of sky making this target suitable for both close ups and telephoto equally. Technical Data: 10" f/2.8 Newtonian astrograph, Atik 16200 CCD, LRGB = 10.2h hours total, Payson, Az.
