Description:
LDN 673 is a dark nebula located in the constellation Aquila. This nebula is unique not because it emits light, but because it blocks light from stars behind it thus appearing as a black void floating in space. This nebula has enough gas and dust to one day form thousands of individual stars. This photo was taken in dark skies at Topaz Lake in Nevada during a moonless night. This image is the result of 39 300 second exposures stacked.
