Description:
LDN1622 in Orion is actually a dark globule of dust superimposed on top of Barnards loop, which is glowing red in the background. In fact, there is no dark sky anywhere in this image, it is all nebulosity. Recording this shadowy figure is not easy, as it is very faint and required 4h of Luminance and 4h of 2x2 binned RGB data to get a noise free composition.
