Description:
Hello Comet Lemmon continues its journey through the solar system, reaching its perihelion yesterday, November 8, 2025. These nights, in a clear sky, away from light pollution, you can easily see its tail and nucleus in the constellation of Ophiuchus with binoculars. This image is a composite image of many images stacked to extract Lemmon's ion and dust tails, taken on November 8, 2025, in a clear sky, away from light pollution, in the Rivash Dolomites mountains (My regular astrophotography location). The Messier 10 globular cluster is visible on the right side of the image. Comet Lemmon reached its closest approach to Earth on October 21, 2024. Sky : 20 x 20 seconds, ISO 1600 Ground : 5 x 20 seconds, ISO 6400 DeepSky Stacker, Photoshop
