Description:

This is a Mosaic comprised of 4 panels. Each panel had 84 3 minute exposures. Then the 4 panels were combined to make this one image. The sheer size on Andromeda in the sky dictated that I needed to capture it's image this ways. If you could see it with your naked eyes, it would be about the size of 3 full moons. Andromeda has captured my imagination since I was a child. It is amazing to me as an adult now, that I am able to capture images of the Milky Ways, nearest galaxy, Andromeda. With approximately 1 Trillion stars in it, the detail of the arms stands out clearly. It is predicted that there is a 50-50 chance that Andromeda will collide with the Milky Way galaxy in the next several million years. I am placing my money that there will NOT be a collision! Now I just have to wait.
