Description:

Discovered by Edmond Halley in 1714, M13 contains over 100,000 stars that are so closely packed that collisions are inevitable, often resulting in massive and super-hot blue stars called "blue stragglers". In 1959, Kurt Vonnegut wrote "Every passing hour brings the Solar System forty three thousand miles closer to Globular Cluster M13 in Hercules - and still there are some misfits who insist that there is no such thing as progress.". This is my third time imaging M13; thank goodness for progress!
