Description:

Perhaps the most prominent open cluster in Canis Major, just a few degrees below Sirius. Also known as the little beehive cluster. As a matter of fact, I tend to confuse it with M44!! Cancer and Canis Major seem to have a similar constellation configuration! Itas apparent magnitude is 4.5 and it is estimated to be 2,316 LY away. Its age is estimated to be 190 million years.
