Description:
The iconic M42 nebula in Orion is a diffuse nebula, containing both emission and reflection nebulosity. This suggested itself to the use of both narrowband and broadband filters with my OSC camera, and the size of it required a 2-panel mosaic with my FOV. In addition to the fainter peripheral nebulosity, the core of the nebula (the Trapezium) is extremely bright and requires shorter exposures. This final image is a combination of 9 different datasets, and was a challenge to process!
