Description:

M63, the Sunflower Galaxy, one of the gems of the spring deep sky. M63 is a beautiful example of a flocculent spiral with fragmented disk dotted with active star-forming regions. M63 disk is surrounded by a faint halo and tidal loops probably related to interactions with a smaller companion galaxy. Total exposure: 12.5 hours Photographer: Sergey Trudolyubov, Los Alamos, New Mexico, USA
