Description:

M82, the Starburst Galaxy and also known as the Cigar Galaxy. Incredible amounts of hydrogen are pouring from the core of M82 due to massive star formation. One theory is gravitational interactions with M81 are causing this to occur. This image was started in April of 2021 and finished in January 2022. The image is a combination of 34.5hrs of data through LRGB and Ha filters. 366min of Luminance, 185min of Red, 200min of Green and Blue and 1120min of Ha. The data was collected with 1x1 binning at .64 arcsec/pix. The data was collected under Bortle 5 skies from my home observatory. The image is a crop of a larger field of view.
