Description:
Mars was high in the sky on a cold and steady November night. This image is the result of aligning and stacking the best 30 percent of thousands of images obtained over a period of about 20 minutes with a ZWO ASI290mc "one-shot color" planetary camera. Mars shows lots of detail, including a brilliant white North Polar Hood which partly obscures a growing polar cap. This face of Mars includes the gigantic Vallis Marineris canyon system which extends east-west across the meridian.
