Messier 3 (also known as M3 or NGC 5272) is a globular cluster located in the constellation Canes Venatici, the Hunting Dogs. It is one of the brightest, largest globular clusters in the sky, with an apparent magnitude of 6.2 and located at approximately 33900 light years from Earth.
