Description:
Messier 54 (also known as M54 or NGC 6715) is an extragalactic globular cluster located in the southern constellation Sagittarius. It has an apparent magnitude of 8.37 and lies at a distance of 87400 light years from Earth. Messier 54 was the first globular cluster discovered to belong to a different galaxy.
