Description:

A shot of the Milky Way from Pintura di Bolognola, in the Sibillini Mountains. The galactic center has set behind the pass between Pizzo Tre Vescovi and Monte Rotondo; farther to the left, Monte Pietralta and Monte Cacamillo close this view of the northern Sibillini range. The Sibillini Mountains, or Sibylline Mountains (Italian: Monti Sibillini) are one of the major mountain groups in the Italian Peninsula, and part of the Apennines range. Most of the peaks are over 2,000 m (6,600 ft). The area is well known for being one of the darkest in central Italy and has become a popular destination for stargazers around the peninsula
