Description:
As the comet moves further away from the Earth's orbit, it takes a dark and clear sky to see it with the naked eye. I took this photo at 7:05 pm HST at the summit of Haleakala National Park, where the elevation is 10,000 ft. With the moon not rising until about 10 pm that night, conditions were very good to capture the Milky Way, the planet Venus and the Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS together in the western sky.
