Description:
The Rosette nebula is star forming region located in constellation Monoceros. The stars of the central cluster (NGC 2244) are massive and burn hot, ionizing the atoms of the nebula and causing it to glow. In this narrowband image, the cyan-blue color is mapped to ionized Oxygen and the yellow-red color is mapped to ionized Hydrogen. The color combination was achieved with the Foraxx palette, as a base.
