Description:
Do you see her, Lady Liberty (NGC 3576)? With an outstretched arm she is holding the torch, and if you look closely, with a little imagination, you might think she is wearing a crown (but that’s just gas and dust being zapped by high-energy light from massive stars). Within the nebula there are very active star formation regions which contribute to the complex shapes and looping filaments surrounding her.
