Description:

My image shows NGC 4725, a ring shaped intermediate barred spiral galaxy having a single spiral arm extending from an oval shaped ring. This is a 9th magnitude galaxy located 42 million light years from Earth. At 100,000 light years in diameter it is roughly the same size as our own galaxy; NGC 4725 extends a rather small 9 arcminutes across the night sky. I captured this image over a total integration time of 10 hours and 16 minutes through Luminance and RGB filters.
