Description:

Here is a smaller portion of the western Veil Nebula with 52 Cygni star in the center. This is sometimes called the "Witches Broom". What you see is the atomic Hydrogen (red) and oxygen (blue/green). Its about 2000 light years away from us and this whole complex comes from a Super Nova that exploded a massive star about 10-15 thousand years ago. This image is from my SX Trius 814 Pro and it captures a major portion of this image or about 25 light years.
