Description:
In this image, taken remotely from Utah (USA), we can admire the intricate structures of the nebulae NGC 6974 and NGC 6979, part of the majestic Veil Nebula, a supernova remnant located about 1500 light-years from us, and the result of a spectacular stellar explosion that occurred more than 10000 years ago. Technical data: Narrowband HaSIIOIII composition (3x600s bin 2x2 per channel) for the nebula and RGB (3x120s bin 2x2 per channel) for the stars.
