Description:

Certainly one of the most interesting fields in the entire northern sky, centered on NGC1999. Abundant red hydrogen gas fills the field, with rifts and dark lanes crossing it in all directions. Just below NGC1999 are some tiny red nodules which are Herbig Haro objects, and just above to the upper right is the curving arc known informally as the "Waterfall Nebula". To its lower left is the "Chevron Nebula". And of course at the very top we find the outer loops of M42. Technical Data: RASA 11" f/2.2, ASI6200MM, Baader f/2 Halpha and LRGB filters, 2h total integration, Happy Jack, Az.
