Description:
NGC 2170, also known as the Angel Nebula, looks like an abstract painting but is actually a breathtaking celestial scene. Reflecting the light of nearby hot stars, NGC 2170 shines among bluish reflection nebulae, a glowing red emission region, and dark dust clouds. Located in the massive Mon R2 molecular cloud in the constellation Monoceros (the Unicorn), this stellar masterpiece is a hub of star formation, just 2,400 light-years away. At that distance, this cosmic "canvas" stretches over 60 light-years across—truly a masterpiece of the universe!
