Description:

NGC2244, the Rosette Nebula, is an HII region in the constellation Monoceros. It is an emission Nebula about 5,200 light years from Earth. If one were to actually see the Nebule with the naked eye, the Moon would be just a little bit larger than the blue area in the middle. So the Nebula itself would be considerable larger.
