Description:

We had a fine view of the aurora borealis up here in northern Vermont from about 1:10 a.m. EDT (as the Moon set) on to 2:15 a.m. Tall shifting pillars were visible to the eye up to about 30 degrees above the horizon. The camera really brought out the wondrous scene. Exposure: 15 seconds, f2.0, ISO 1600.
