Description:
The Lunar occultation of Antares occurred in twilight in Tucson AZ with sky showing color. Antares was an easy unaided visual spot as the Moon approached the star . The lighting and contrast of twilight appeared to make Antares stand out (left image). The thin Moon's illumination did not overwhelm Antares so it was visible with color up to the moment of occultation. I was able to capture Antares moment of exit in full daylight after Sunrise shown on the right image.
