Description:
I set up an older Celestron C8 on the evening of Feb 28, 2025 to attempt to observer the 24 hours old crescent Moon, the Sun set at 6:10PM local central time on the balcony facing west. By 6:50PM I was able to spot the crescent Moon with 8x42 Binoculars, within minutes, I managed to slew the scope manually to the area of the sky where the Moon supposed to be. Putting the phone with the adapter, focusing the crescent Moon and zooming n on the phone screen the took several pictures When checking Duff Moon Phase App on the phone, I realize the Moon was exactly 1 day and 12 minutes. My coordination were: 49.83612537200333, -97.10614095951901. This attached picture is rotated, removed the lens flare and slightly edited with Snapseed on the cellphone to darken the background, show details
