Equipment:
90mm SkyWatcher achromatic refractor on basic EQ2 mount. Nikon D3300 DSLR.
Description:
19m 44s exposure of the M42/M43 complex. Images (4s subframes) of 3200 and 6400 ISO were combined in DeepSkyStacker. For a very low budget (the whole telescope costs less than most DSLR lenses) it represents a decent attempt, I feel. Also, no need for HDR and/or tonal mapping as many believe to separate the high and low tones.
