Description:

Our angry sun - There has certainly been good activity on the sun lately, and this sunday there was an opportunity to see a very large area with new huge sunspots. The picture shows the suns full disc in H-alpha light, just above the photosphere - by looking at the sun in this light we can see how the sun is certainly not a perfectly round sphere, but that there is a sea of activity on its surface. In addition, there were a lot of protuburances (ionized gas emanating from the surface). This complete image of the suns disc is made up of more than 77 seperate videos - took some time to proces. The picture was taken through my TS 480mm telescope, with a 2.7X barlow mounted, together with a Quark daystar H-alpha filter.
