Description:
The periodic comet 12P/Pons-Brooks, reaching its next perihelion April next year, currently undergoes a huge outburst. I took this high resolution image of the comet that suddenly brightened by 5 magnitudes, now reaching 11th magnitude and hence visible in telescope, under 8 inch of aperture. This is an image taken by my dobsonian Stargate 450p, 18" f3 (with starizona Nexus reducer). Live stack image acquisition with Sharpcap at 2sec subs, 12.5 mins of total integration time. The image is at high resoution 0.35" per pixel is showing the details in dust in the inner coma around the core.
