Description:

The bright red color is due to the ionization of hydrogen gas, and dark dust clouds define the eye and long bill of this cosmic bird. This constellation appears to "fly" along the plane of the Milky Way with nearby star Deneb making one of the vertices of the asterism knows as the Summer Triangle (the other two vertices are Vega and Altair).
