Description:
Around 12:30 am IST on August 12, 2025, during the peak of the Perseid meteor shower, I accidentally photographed my very first meteorite. I was adjusting my camera and taking a few trial shots when a bright meteor suddenly streaked across the sky right in the direction my lens was pointing. I checked the image gallery with my fingers crossed, and there it was...a clear and bright meteor trail. The joy of seeing my first meteor on camera was unforgettable. I was completely satisfied with the shot, so I decided to stop setting up and simply leaned back on the grass to watch the rest of the meteors with my own eyes. The location was just two kilometers from my home, a plain grassland that was once the hunting ground of Kolhapur’s royal King Shahu Maharaj.
