Description:

This image captures the plasma jet emanating from the core of Messier 87. You can see the plasma jet on the upper right side of the galaxy in the image. The plasma jet reportedly extends 5,000 light years from the galaxy's core and stems from the black hole ejecting material from the core. This black hole is the one that was the first ever to be imaged back in 2019. The galaxy is over 50 million light years distant. Jim Rutledge E-mail: [email protected]
