Description:

This is Plato (101 km), a showpiece crater on the Moon. Its dark floor contrasts nicely with the much lighter material surrounding it. You can see about half a dozen small craterlets within Plato all in the 2 km range in size. There's also a chunk of material in the southwest corner that broke away from the wall of Plato, but did not slump into the crater itself.
