Description:
A peculiar polar-ring galaxy, NGC 660. The complex structure of NGC 660 is believed to be a result of violent interaction between two galaxies that occurred around a billion years ago forming a prominent star-forming ring. The prominent warp in the plane of the ring is probably due to the tidal interaction with the nearby galaxy UGC 1195. The image is a combination of LRGB data taken over several nights in October 2021 with the 250mm f/4 Lacerta Photonewton and ZWO ASI294MM Pro camera.
