Description:

The Rima Hadley is a geological structure on the lunar surface that takes its name from the nearby Apennine mountain known as Mons Hadley, which is about 4,000 m high. The rima, about 135 km long, has a maximum depth of 400 m and was probably formed by the collapse of a lava tube. The crater at the center of the rima is called "Hadley C" and has a diameter of 6 km. The Rima Hadley was chosen by NASA as the landing site for the Apollo 15 mission, the first mission to the Moon with the Lunar Roving Vehicle or LRV. On July 30, 1971, astronauts David R. Scott and James B. Irwin with the Lunar Module Falcon (LM), landed at the Hadley-Apennine site. The image is a mosaic of 2 panels. 406mm aperture Newtonian, TeleVue 3x barlow, Astronomik G filter , Player One Mars-M II (IMX462).
