Description:
Sh2-284 is a rarely imaged Hll region emission nebula located in the Monoceros constellation and is about 15000 light years from Earth What makes Sh2-284 interesting? * It's a star forming region with a cluster of young stars called Dolidze 25 at its center * The Radiation and stellar winds from Dolidze 25 ionize the hydrogen gas ub the nebula creating its bright colors * The ionization also creates a central vvoid in the nebula, pillars if gas and dust that stretch into the void
