Description:
The dark nebula LDN 1235, also called the Shark Nebula, is located in the direction of the constellation of Cepheus. Its particular shape makes it one of the most spectacular objects. Due to their light-absorbing composition and low temperature, dark nebulae are very difficult to detect and photograph. The distance from Earth is about 650 light years. The galaxy PGC 67671, located near the shark's dorsal fin, is also striking. This galaxy is located about 58 million light years from our solar system. Photo taken from Campo Cecina (Carrara)
